Glen Allen, Virginia - In a display of community spirit and culinary prowess, the annual fish fry fundraiser hosted by the Glen Allen Masonic Lodge shattered records this past weekend, leaving attendees with full bellies and hearts, while also raising significant funds for a worthy cause.
The event, held at the Glen Allen Masonic Lodge in Mountain Rd, drew in crowds from across the Richmond area, eager to indulge in the delectable array of fried fish and savory sides. From the first sizzle of the fryer, the event buzzed with energy and camaraderie, showcasing the power of community coming together for a common goal.
Organizers had set an ambitious fundraising target, aiming to surpass last year's total. However, the generosity and enthusiasm of attendees surpassed all expectations. The fundraiser managed to exceed its goal by serving 71 meals in 3 hours and received several donations as well, a testament to the unwavering support of the community.
"It's truly heartwarming to see the community come together like this," said Bro. Gary Norton, one of the event organizers. "Every year, we're blown away by the turnout and the generosity of everyone who attends. This fundraiser is a cornerstone of our organization, and the funds raised here will enable us to continue our important work in the community."

"My wife (who doesn't eat fried food) and my neighbor who has a professional cooking expertise have not stopped talking about the food they had at your lodge... they raved about the way it was cooked (tender and not greasy) and the excellent choice of spices. I heard her again on the phone this morning talking to a friend" said a local resident.
Plans are already underway for next year's fish fry fundraiser, with hopes of building upon this year's triumph and continuing to make a positive impact in the community.
